European University Cyprus has taken another essential step in implementing the National Strategy for Decentralized Technologies (Blockchain). European University Cyprus and PUNDI X 365 have signed the Protocol of Cooperation which aims to create productive synergies between the academic and the business sector. As declared by the State, the full implementation of Blockchain technology to the way public and private services operate is expected to radically change the structures, organization and functioning of society. PUNDI X 365 is a leading blockchain technology developer and simultaneously builds a blockchain payment network in Cyprus.
The Protocol of Cooperation was signed by the Managing Director and President of the Council, Dr. Christoforos Hadjikiprianou, on behalf of PUNDI X 365, its founder and CEO, Joseph Borghese. The signing of the Protocol took place in the presence of the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E Mr. Dimitris Syllouris.
The European University of Cyprus and PUNDI X 365 undertake to study the best and most productive way of using Blockchain technology by Cyprus based companies. These include health services, legal system, financial technology (fintech), education technology (edtech), shipping, registrar, accreditation, charity and many more. At the same time, this cooperation aims to create postgraduate and professional certifications in the field of blockchain technology and to participate for its implementation in European programs.

The President of the Parliament, H.E. Mr. Syllouris, welcomed the cooperation between the European University of Cyprus and PUNDI X 365 and expects, as he said, “to see how they will help and improve the transparency and efficiency of businesses in the near future”. “Through such partnerships, we are helping to create a competitive advantage for Cyprus both in the European Union and globally,” the President of the Parliament said. Mr. Borghese said: “Blockchain technology will not only support Cypriot businesses but these services will change the lives of citizens for the better.” Dr. Hadjikiprianou said: “The European University of Cyprus is pioneering the foundation of a knowledge-based economy and enhances innovation and research ecosystems, with a positive impact on all forms of economic activity in our country.”
Previously Pundix had signed started to work in Cyprus on a blockchain strategy as well as worked in the UAE with the TRA ( Telecom Regulatory Authority) as well.
