The Beirut Digital District has signed an MoU with ConsenSys, the global blockchain technology company. The aim of the partnership with ConsenSys is to create awareness about and promote the use of blockchain technology in Lebanon as well as train programmers and entrepreneurs and provide them with skills to enable them to succeed in the Blockchain space.
ConsenSys will run meetups, workshops and trainings at BDD, with discounted rates for BDD members. The partnership also extends to providing BDD startups with advice and guidance as well as sourcing international experts and advisors. In return, BDD will offer ConsenSys access to its network and its facilities in Lebanon.
“Our aim is to support and grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Lebanon, to ultimately serve as an outsourcing hub for the world,” said Mouhamad Rabah, CEO of the Beirut Digital District. “The agreement with ConsenSys will bring international blockchain expertise to Lebanon, to fuel the growth of the fintech ecosystem in the country,” he added.

We are looking forward to further collaboration with BDD and the Lebanese entrepreneurial community,” he added.
ConsenSys held Lebanon’s first Blockchain Developer Bootcamp in October 2018 at BDD. 32 participants completed the bootcamp which was a combination of an intensive 3-day blockchain developer training followed by a 30-hour hackathon. BDD was the Strategic Partner along with Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company, part of the PWC network) as Platinum Sponsor, UK Lebanon Tech Hub as Gold Sponsor, and Middle East Venture Partners and Flat6Labs as Sliver Sponsors.
