Saudi interest in the UNLOCK Blockchain Forum
A recent survey carried out by UNLOCK online media publication revealed that 67% of those surveyed in the region do not fully understand Blockchain. Given that 40% of those surveyed will be implementing it in the near future, it is now time to see how Blockchain can be used to the best of its capability.
Blockchain will have a tremendous influence on the future of technology in the world, as it prohibits data manipulation, and allows safer transactions. Using the Blockchain, everything we do has a digital record. That means every process, transaction, task, and payment has a digital record. This will be useful in the exchange of payments and bonds and will enhance the quality of service delivery across many industries like social and healthcare, logistics, transportation, real estate while also reducing the possibility of security breaches…
Saudis have shown an early interest in the Blockchain in order to gain a better understanding of the technology or optimize its usage across different sectors. This was reflected in the interest shown by many Saudi businessmen, experts, entrepreneurs and startups participating in the UNLOCK Blockchain Forum taking place on January 14th and 15th 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel DIFC.
UNLOCK Blockchain, organized by Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal, will discuss Blockchain implementation across various sectors, including finance, health, government and Smart Cities. It will also be a stage to discuss the opportunities as well as challenges being faced today, and delve into which platforms will outperform others, as well as the regulatory and legal concerns pertaining to Blockchain.
As Mr. Walid Abou Zaki, Executive Director of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Co. (the organizer) stated, “We are proud of the efforts we have taken to help build the Blockchain ecosystem not only in Dubai but also across the MENA region. We have a line-up of more than 45 prominent Blockchain experts speaking at UNLOCK and will have more than 60 Blockchain startups, exhibiting, speaking, and attending UNLOCK Blockchain. We are also expecting more than 350 delegates to attend. We look forward to welcoming all and we are confident that this forum will become the leading Blockchain event in the region for years to come”.
UNLOCK Blockchain has signed up sponsors that include Smart Dubai, IBM, DarkMatter, Emirates Airlines, Microsoft, Avanza Solutions, DEWA (Dubai Electricity & Water Authority), DU Telecom and Dubai Municipality. UNLOCK Blockchain Forum is also supported by Startupbootcamp, CrytpoValley Labs, and Careem as transportation partner.
