A group of energy firms including BP have completed an energy trading pilot using blockchain tech from Canadian startup BTL. It was a 12 week trial using interbit platform. Ernst and Young provided support for the test as well. Guy Halford-Thompson, co-founder and CEO of BTL, said in a statement:" This trial demonstrated reductions in risk as well as cost savings and we have an opportunity to deliver the first successful Blockchain based application to the energy market.”
