RW3 Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage investments within the blockchain sector, has announced the successful closure of RW3 Ventures Fund I LP (“Fund I” or the “Fund”), securing $60 million in capital commitments. The Fund received substantial backing from The Raptor Group, along with support from Mubadala Capital, the asset management arm of Mubadala Investment Company, a prominent global sovereign investor headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Established in 2021 in collaboration with The Raptor Group, the family office of Jim Pallotta, RW3 Ventures focuses on supporting early-stage ventures that are developing innovative blockchain infrastructure and decentralized applications and protocols. The firm adopts a collaborative, hands-on approach to assist Web3 founders in expanding and scaling their platforms. In addition to providing financial resources, RW3 Ventures offers expertise in talent acquisition, community building, and technical research and development to its portfolio companies.
“Blockchain technology is revolutionizing the way transactions and value, services, and data management are conducted worldwide. While the industry boasts many visionary founders with groundbreaking ideas, most require operational guidance and support to propel their businesses forward,” explained Pete Najarian, Founder and Managing Partner of RW3. “At RW3, we leverage our experience in developing and scaling some of the largest crypto infrastructure firms to empower our portfolio companies globally. The combined networks of RW3 and Raptor are already proving to be unparalleled and influential in this domain.”
“Pete and Joe’s disciplined, systematic, and institutional approach to the digital asset markets stems from their extensive experience in helping companies navigate growth markets and manage volatility-related risks,” noted Jim Pallotta. “Blockchain enterprises have the potential to emerge as some of the most valuable entities in the future, and we anticipate that the most promising investment opportunities will arise within the next 36 months. I firmly believe that the RW3 team is exceptionally positioned to identify and nurture tomorrow's most promising companies.”
Fund I aims to leverage RW3’s institutional approach, vast network within the blockchain ecosystem, and distinctive operational model to drive transformative growth for its portfolio companies. The Fund targets opportunities ranging from pre-seed to Series A stages, with a focus on teams leveraging blockchain technology to disrupt real-world industries and business models with substantial addressable markets. Thus far, the Fund has invested in various areas, including blockchain protocols, decentralized infrastructure, fully homomorphic encryption, and gaming.
