iBLOXX Studios has raised $5.4 million to finalize development of StrayShot, a mobile third-person shooter incorporating blockchain technology that allows players to own, trade, and control in-game assets. The funding will support marketing, global distribution, live-service operations, content updates, and platform expansion, including future console releases.
StrayShot is optimized for low-end devices and features multiple gameplay modes, including Battle Royale, Team Deathmatch, and Extraction, set in the fictional Sierra Verde region. Players assume the role of mercenaries competing against other players and the El Fuego cartel, combining fast-paced combat with strategic asset management.
The game integrates blockchain technology to enable verifiable ownership of select in-game assets, providing secure trading and player-controlled transfers. This approach reflects a growing trend in web3 gaming, where developers are increasingly linking gameplay mechanics to digital asset ownership, allowing players to benefit from their in-game investments.
“This funding positions us to deliver StrayShot as a live-service title that combines high-quality gameplay with genuine digital ownership for the player community,” said Domenik Maier, CEO of iBLOXX Studios.
iBLOXX operates with a global focus and has partnered with industry participants including Xsolla, a leading payments and publishing platform, as well as organizations advancing blockchain and gaming infrastructure. The studio has presented StrayShot at leading international events such as Gamescom and has actively engaged with communities around blockchain gaming.
The new funding comes at a time when mobile gaming and blockchain adoption are converging, driven by the increasing popularity of play-to-earn models and decentralized in-game economies. Analysts project that blockchain-enabled gaming could expand significantly over the next decade, offering opportunities for developers to combine traditional gameplay with tokenized digital assets.
StrayShot is currently in closed testing, with iBLOXX planning a staged rollout to global audiences. The title’s development reflects a broader industry trend of integrating blockchain into competitive multiplayer games, where secure asset ownership and trading mechanics are positioned as a differentiator in a crowded market.
