Four Pillars has raised a Series A funding round backed by Pantera Capital and Abu Dhabi-based Further Ventures, marking a new phase of expansion for the blockchain research and infrastructure provider.
The funding highlights growing institutional interest in companies operating at the intersection of research, infrastructure, and cross-market connectivity, particularly as digital assets mature beyond early-stage experimentation.
The participation of Further Ventures sheds light on the United Arab Emirates’ increasing role in shaping global digital asset markets. Operating from Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Further Ventures is part of a broader ecosystem of regulated investment firms supporting blockchain innovation.
In recent years, the UAE has become a hub for digital finance, combining regulatory clarity with access to capital, and Venture firms based in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are playing a growing role in funding infrastructure projects and connecting regional markets with global networks.
Four Pillars’ expansion strategy is rooted in addressing structural inefficiencies within the global crypto industry, particularly the fragmentation between regions.
Despite blockchain’s borderless design, information, relationships, and capital allocation often remain siloed. This divide has been especially visible in Asia, where market participants have historically operated with limited integration into global networks.
Four Pillars has focused on bridging this gap by building a research platform that operates across languages and regions. The firm has published hundreds of research reports and worked with more than 100 protocols and companies, aiming to provide globally accessible insights.
Another area of focus is the disconnect between traditional financial institutions and Web3-native projects.
As institutional interest in digital assets grows, differences in expertise, regulatory familiarity, and operational approaches have created barriers to collaboration. Four Pillars positions itself as an intermediary layer, helping institutions navigate blockchain systems while supporting Web3 projects in engaging with regulated environments.
With the new funding, the company plans to extend its activities beyond research into infrastructure and execution.
This includes building institutional-grade validator services, particularly in staking, as well as creating platforms for dialogue between traditional finance and blockchain participants. The firm is also developing capabilities to support institutions in launching products, moving from advisory roles into more execution-focused services.
The timing of the raise reflects broader changes in the digital asset sector, particularly in Asia, where regulatory frameworks are gradually becoming clearer, and use cases are shifting toward real-world applications.
The emphasis is moving away from speculative growth toward execution, infrastructure, and trusted partnerships.
From a wider perspective, the backing from Pantera Capital and UAE-based Further Ventures signals a convergence between global capital and regional expertise.
As hubs like the UAE continue to attract investment and talent, firms operating across regions are increasingly positioned to play a central role in connecting fragmented markets.
For Four Pillars, the Series A round represents both validation of its approach and a step toward building a broader platform to link Asia with the global digital asset ecosystem.
