Dubai’s blockchain sector is preparing for one of its most institutionally focused gatherings this year, with more than 500 senior decision-makers and institutional attendees expected to attend REAL – The Comeback, a summit organized by the Dubai Blockchain Center, scheduled forMay 13 in Dubai.
The full-day, invitation-only summit has been designed specifically to shape the institutional blockchain agenda across the Middle East.
It will bring regulators, capital allocators, policymakers, financial institutions, and blockchain infrastructure builders into the same room at a scale rarely seen in the region. According to organizers, the summit is already oversubscribed.
Unlike traditional blockchain conferences, REAL is intended to serve as a coordination platform rather than a standard industry event.
Through a combination of closed-door roundtables and public on-record panel discussions, the summit aims to facilitate institutional-level conversations around blockchain governance, capital deployment, regulation, and financial infrastructure, topics increasingly molding the next phase of digital asset adoption globally.
REAL has assembled an institutional partner coalition spanning government, regulatory, financial, academic, and media sectors.
Confirmed participants include the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the Central Bank of the UAE, Dubai Police, DMCC, and the UNDP, alongside ecosystem organizations such as the MENA Fintech Association, the Middle East Stablecoin Association (MESA), Daos Hub, D2A2, and In5.
The summit is additionally supported and sponsored by a range of industry players, including GCEX (Digital Prime Brokerage), Ledger Enterprise, Aether Fund, BitDelta, Universal USDU, OneAsset, and others.
Among the summit’s notable contributors is Karm Legal, one of the region’s most recognized legal firms specializing in blockchain, virtual assets, and emerging technology regulation, reflecting the growing importance of legal and compliance frameworks within institutional blockchain adoption.
The event will also receive coverage from Unlock Blockchain, which joins as a leading regional media partner alongside CoinTelegraph.
As one of the Middle East’s most established blockchain-focused publications, Unlock Blockchain is expected to play a central role in amplifying the summit’s institutional and policy discussions across Arabic-speaking markets.
Additionally, academic support for the summit comes from The British University in Dubai and the Dubai Centre for Risk & Innovation, which will contribute to the summit’s research and editorial output, including post-event policy briefs and institutional analysis.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON WEDNESDAY
Wednesday's programme opens with six parallel closed-door roundtables in the morning, covering regulation and virtual assets, forensics and digital identity, real-world asset tokenization, institutional capital strategy, stablecoin infrastructure, and the intersection of AI with the UAE's new economy. Each roundtable is capped at 25-30 participants and runs under strict confidentiality, with no slides and no pitches.
The afternoon opens to a broader audience of 500+ for six public panels, each the on-record counterpart to a morning roundtable, before the day closes with an invitation-only VIP dinner for 50-80 senior decision-makers. The summit's editorial output, including policy briefs and an institutional index, is governed by an independent task force; sponsors have no editorial influence over published findings.
Among those attending on Wednesday: senior representatives from Emirates NBD, FAB, Mashreq, Standard Chartered, HSBC, VARA, DFSA, the Central Bank of the UAE, DIFC, ADGM, Pantera Capital, Polychain Capital, a16z Crypto, Mubadala, Ethereum, Solana, Ripple, PwC, KPMG, McKinsey, and others.
