MetaEssence has teamed up with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) as the official technology provider for the region’s first rail readiness drill.
This pioneering exercise, utilizing metaverse and digital twin technologies, aims to enhance the crisis preparedness of the Dubai Metro, setting a new standard for public safety, operational resilience, and smart city innovation.
The drill, part of RTA’s Emergency and Crisis Management Programme, was conducted in a secure virtual environment that closely mirrors the Dubai Metro infrastructure. MetaEssence’s advanced digital twin and metaverse solutions enabled RTA and its partners to carry out a realistic crisis simulation. This allowed teams to train for emergency scenarios in two languages, refine crisis management strategies, and enhance collaboration—all without physical risk.
MetaEssence’s technology played a crucial role in creating a platform for immersive training, where responders could navigate high-pressure situations and simulate emergencies. The exercise emphasized the importance of preparing for real-world challenges in a safe, controlled setting. The drill also helped optimize response times, sharpen decision-making processes, and enhance team coordination.
This collaboration highlights MetaEssence’s mission to drive urban safety, resilience, and innovation. By integrating cutting-edge technologies like the metaverse and digital twin, the company aligns with its vision of building smarter, safer cities. The data and insights gathered from the drill will inform future platform enhancements, allowing MetaEssence to deliver even more refined solutions to both public and private sector clients globally.
Fatma Elsafty, Founder and CEO of MetaEssence, commented on the partnership, saying, “Working with RTA on this transformative initiative is a significant milestone for us. It demonstrates the tremendous potential of advanced technologies like the metaverse and digital twins to address real-world challenges. By leveraging these tools, we’re able to provide valuable insights and strategic foresight, helping our clients navigate complex situations with confidence.”
It is worth noting that the drill brought together 11 key government entities, including Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), among others. The coordinated effort also received operational support from Keolis-MHI, the Dubai Metro and Tram operator, ensuring a unified approach to public safety and crisis management.
MetaEssence’s collaboration with RTA reinforces Dubai’s commitment to leading the way in smart city innovation and public safety. This initiative is a testament to the city’s dedication to building future-ready infrastructure and setting global standards for emergency preparedness.
