KSA Ministry of telecom and IT puts blockchain in digital training program

More than 5,000 employees in Saudi Arabia’s public, private and nonprofit sectors will be offered professional digital training as part of a program to build the Kingdom’s high-tech future.
The move is part of a Ministry of Communications and Information Technology “Future Skills” program, which aims to provide intensive training in digital domains, including data science, information security, communications and technology projects management, web development, artificial intelligence, information technology engineering and blockchain.
 
The Ministry as per its website is working with various partners to offer these trainings. All of these fall under the efforts to empower a digital KSA. As per the website of MOICT in KSA , The training programs designed by the Ministry with its partners within the ” Future Skills ” initiative aiming at the advancement of national talnet and the development of their capabilities in specific areas of the communications and information technology sector, including emerging, traditional and supportive technologies.
 
In 2019 Hesham Bin Abbas, Head of MOICT Blockchain initiative discussed KSA’s vision for using Blockchain when it fits. The training program which includes Blockchain suggests that KSA will be implementing blockchain in various projects. In late 2017 KSA and the UAE Central Bank announced they were working on a joint digital currency project called ABER.
