The Blockchain ecosystem in the GCC and MENA region continues to grow and this growth is being spurred by companies such as WebMob Software Solutions. UNLOCK interviewed the founder of WebMob Software Solutions, Mr. Nitin Gupta who talked about their various projects in the GCC region.
According to Gupta it all started 5 years ago when he was working in the IT industry and became acquainted with blockchain. Then in 2015 he decided to start WebMob software solutions pvt ltd with only two employees. Their first project was actually in Zurich, an asset tokenization project, and from there they started to grow and hire more developers in India.
Gupta has been building their blockchain solutions on R3 Corda’ platform with a research and development lab and 10 R3 Corda certified developers. As Gupta states, “We have a dedicated lab in India that works on Blockchain and Artificial intelligence research and development.”

Today WebMob is working on 7 projects globally utilizing the R3 Corda platform. Most of the projects are in the domains of trade finance, digital exchanges, moneymarket as well as projects in the GCC that include Instimatch global AG a FinTech company which recently opened offices in Qatar. According to Daniel Sandmeier-CEO of Instimatch Global AG, “We work very closely with WebMob Software in building and enhancing our Money Market platform and are also working on POC in Corda with them.
In addition WebMob also works with few others clients in the region based in Bahrain. They have built the first blockchain based VAT solution on Corda as well. As Gupta explains, “WebMob is a service delivery company, which means they build the platform and then offer it as a hosted blockchain as a service on either AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Microsoft Azure. We thus handle all the IT requirements of our clients. In other instances WebMob builds the platform and hands it over to client.
WebMob is currently looking to open offices both in Qatar as well as Zurich as their client base in these two countries expand. As Gupta explained, “We will be opening an office in Qatar as a joint venture with a company there.”
Today WebMob is expanding its blockchain solution offering to include other blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger and Ethereum. As Gupta explains, “The world is changing and moving more and more towards digitization and this has a positive effect on the growth of blockchain as it ensures not only efficiency but security, so we are confident that we as a company will grow as well.”
