General Motors to use Blockchain in self Driving cars

US based General Motors recently filed for a pantent based platform that they intend to use in their self dirving cars. The patent was submitted early this month. The Blockchain technology wil be used to build maps for vehicles applying numerous GPS and other sensors enabling self driving cars to avoid obstacles. As written GM will use blockchain for their navigation maps allowing self driving car to build the optimal route, the data is then recorded on blockchain making it immutable and unaltered. 

Last February General Motors financial arm partnered with Spring Labs for Blockchain platform Spring Protocol for data sharing. General Motors were also one of the earliest to join the MOBI consortium ( Mobilitiy open Blockchain Initiative) to faciliatate paying fees or parking lots using car ID systems.
