FIX (Financial Information eXchange) Gateway will provide improved access to digital asset liquidity for brokers, institutions, and professional traders worldwide
Bitfinex, the world’s leading digital asset trading platform, and Connamara, the premier provider of matching engine technology for startups and frontier exchanges, have today announced the release of a FIX (Financial Information eXchange) digital asset gateway.
The two teams have come together to deliver an open-source, robust, high-performance solution for professional traders wishing to enter the digital asset markets. With the successful deployment of the FIX gateway, Connamara and Bitfinex provide improved access to digital asset liquidity for brokers, institutions, and professional traders around the world.
Created in the early 1990s, Financial Information eXchange (FIX) is an industry standard electronic communications protocol that facilitates data transfer between financial institutions. As a non-proprietary protocol, FIX is a common language spoken by many existing institutional client systems and frameworks. Using standard messages supported by a FIX gateway, the time and effort required by institutional traders to connect to Bitfinex, or any other digital asset liquidity provider, is greatly reduced. Bitfinex employed the capital markets expertise of Connamara Systems, a proven expert in FIX protocol, to assist with the design and development of the technology.
Paolo Ardoino, Bitfinex CTO said, “We are proud to be able to provide next-level access to global cryptocurrency markets. Through this collaboration we aim to combine Connamara’s financial technology expertise with our experience to improve the efficiency of digital asset markets and allow for streamlined access to cryptocurrency trading.”
