The UAE Cybersecurity Council has partnered with QuantumGate to launch the national Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT), an Abu Dhabi-developed platform designed to help the UAE transition toward quantum-safe cybersecurity infrastructure.
The initiative forms part of the country’s broader National Post-Quantum Migration Programme and is intended to strengthen visibility, inventory management, and monitoring of cryptographic assets across critical national infrastructure.
According to the announcement, the system was developed based on technical requirements established by the UAE National Cryptography Center and is expected to support large-scale migration toward post-quantum encryption standards.
The launch represents one of the UAE’s most significant cybersecurity initiatives tied to emerging quantum computing risks.
Quantum computing is widely expected to pose long-term challenges to traditional encryption systems currently used across governments, banks, infrastructure networks, and digital platforms globally.
The Crypto Discovery Tool is designed to help organizations identify and map cryptographic assets embedded throughout complex digital environments while automating cryptographic discovery and inventory processes.
The platform will also enable organizations to assess vulnerabilities, monitor encryption exposure, and create structured migration plans toward more resilient cryptographic standards.
According to officials, the initiative positions the UAE among the first countries attempting to operationalize a coordinated national-scale post-quantum migration framework.
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, described the partnership as a critical step in strengthening the UAE’s national cybersecurity posture against future quantum-related threats.
His Excellency stated that sovereign capabilities allowing the country to discover, assess, and manage cryptographic infrastructure across sectors would be essential as the UAE advances its National Post-Quantum Migration Programme.
His Excellency also added that aligning the tool with the requirements of the National Cryptography Center would provide the UAE with greater strategic visibility and coordination capabilities during the transition toward post-quantum security standards.
Meanwhile, Dr. Najwa Aaraj, Chief Executive Officer of QuantumGate, explained that organizations cannot effectively defend against cryptographic risks they cannot fully identify or measure.
Dr. Aaraj explained that the Crypto Discovery Tool was developed to provide organizations with greater visibility into cryptographic exposure while enabling more confident and structured migration planning.
Beyond initial discovery and migration planning, the platform also introduces continuous monitoring functions designed to maintain real-time visibility into cryptographic infrastructure.
According to the announcement, organizations using the system will be able to remain audit-ready while continuously tracking compliance with evolving cybersecurity standards.
The tool’s compliance engine was reportedly designed using a modular structure, allowing updates to be implemented as the UAE Cybersecurity Council introduces additional post-quantum cryptography directives over time.
Officials said the flexibility would support the UAE’s long-term ambition of maintaining leadership in quantum-safe cybersecurity infrastructure.
The Crypto Discovery Tool will also integrate directly into the UAE’s broader cybersecurity infrastructure through the National Cybersecurity Index platform.
By consolidating cryptographic posture reports and risk assessments across organizations, the platform is expected to contribute to the development of a national UAE Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Index.
The system will reportedly provide the Cybersecurity Council with broader visibility into the country’s overall cryptographic readiness and support national-level decision-making related to cybersecurity resilience.
While blockchain, digital assets, and Web3 infrastructure continue expanding across the UAE, the latest initiative highlights the country’s growing focus on next-generation cybersecurity technologies tied to quantum computing risks.
The deployment of CDT reflects a broader shift underway globally as governments and major institutions begin preparing for a future where existing encryption methods could become vulnerable to advanced quantum systems.
