Dubai Courts have achieved a major milestone, securing the prestigious first place in the Digital Government Award for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in 2023.
This remarkable triumph stands as a testament to the UAE's unwavering dedication to embracing digital transformation and upholding the directives set forth by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Their commitment revolves around advancing justice with utmost efficiency, precision, and swiftness.
The much-acclaimed victory, celebrated during the Digital Government Forum for 2023 in Riyadh, centers around the groundbreaking 'Digital Case File' project. This initiative has fundamentally reshaped litigation processes, positioning Dubai Courts at the forefront of digital judicial services.
Applauded for its inclusivity and integration of state-of-the-art technologies, the project ensures seamless business operations under any circumstance.
In the last three years, the Digital Case File project has processed a staggering 2,408,188 applications and facilitated 344,329 remote litigation sessions.
Embraced by 389,259 individuals, including lawyers and clients, this service has successfully issued 139,432 smart payment orders, according to bnn. These remarkable figures underscore its widespread adoption and continuous excellence, maintaining an impeccable 100% continuity rate since its inception.
In a parallel development, the Dubai Court of Cassation rendered a landmark ruling (Case No. 828 of 2023, Commercial), affirming that an arbitration clause within a contract extends to subsequent purchase orders. This ruling emphasizes the criticality of clarity in selecting dispute resolution forums, especially in multifaceted projects involving multiple contracts and stakeholders.
The triumph in the Digital Government Award and the groundbreaking ruling by the Court of Cassation underscore Dubai Courts' dedication to providing easily accessible judicial services for all.
These initiatives further solidify Dubai's position as a global leader in digital judicial advancements, exemplifying their commitment to pioneering transformative changes in the realm of justice.
