Brinc, a leading global venture accelerator, announces the launch of its Summer 2023 Web3 cohort — with four of the 25 international startups selected based out of the UAE. The Web3 accelerator program, run virtually, represents Brinc’s third cohort in Web3-startup acceleration, confirming its commitment to the incredible potential that blockchain technology and online ecosystems offer to all areas of decentralized business.
The Summer 2023 cohort witnessed significant interest, with more than 700 applications received. The final 25 startups that joined the 12-week curriculum-based program feature four companies based out of the UAE — Bentley Records in Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Robox in Silicon Oasis, Golden Griffin in DMCC, and Clozer in Dubai — which showcases the region's growing prominence in the blockchain space.
Karim Banna, Head of Partnerships at Brinc MENA, advises the Web3 program in conjunction with the team in Hong Kong, while overseeing two additional programs in Saudi Arabia as well as the Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund in Dubai.
The program is supported by key industry partners including Animoca Brands, DMCC, Fusang, Zilliqa, Protocol Labs, OliveX, and Prenetics, and offers a diverse range of expert-led sessions, including pitch development, tokenomics’ support and insights from high-profile industry leaders such as Robby Yung, CEO of Animoca Brands, and Mohamed Ezeldin, Head of Tokenomics at Animoca Brands.
Participants receive mentorship and resources to refine their strategies and business, as well as access to resources to scale their growth, expand their network, and contribute to the advancement of technology-driven solutions. Aligned with Brinc’s company vision to support and maximize positive impact, the Web3 cohort will also be guided on diversity and inclusivity strategies.
Manav Gupta, Founder and CEO of Brinc, said: "We are excited to work with these forward-thinking entrepreneurs to build new business models, propel creative innovation and advance incredible technologies, as well as promote diversity and inclusivity for a decentralized future. There is great Web3 adoption and innovation emerging from the MENA region and we look forward to supporting that development.”
The Web3 cohort's journey will culminate in investor matchups showcasing each startup's refined strategies to Brinc's extensive investor network. “The Web3 investor matchup day will take place in Singapore during TOKEN2049, offering the startups an opportunity to attract potential investors and partners,” Banna said.
Brinc continues to drive impact globally by running 13 diverse programs around the world, each tailored to the specific needs of the startups and industries they serve. Brinc's dedication to supporting the Web3 startups underscores a long-term commitment to fostering innovation in the decentralized technology space, as well as maximizing impact through diversity and inclusion strategies.
