Ethereum is planning for the hardfork to be ready by 6th or 7th of December. The system is suppopsedly guaranteeing a wider transaction capacity.
According to the creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin "#ETH will shatter 3,000 transactions per second post-Istanbul". He claims that leading #blockchain smart contract platform will be able to process 3,000 transactions per second after a series of improvements are implemented (Read the ReadBTC tweet here).
The network will be capable of processing 3,000 transactions per second. The hardfork will help promote compatibility with Equihash based coins such as ZCash and many others. ETH still presents itself as a strong strong resource thanks to its price and utility.
