European Banking Authority (EBA)

The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority responsible for developing harmonized prudential rules and promoting consistent supervision across the European banking sector. It monitors financial risks, coordinates EU-wide bank stress tests and supports consumer protection. Under MiCA, the EBA also supervises issuers of significant asset-referenced tokens and significant e-money tokens.
