Perlin Blockchain CEO, Dubai Chambers is our distribution partner in MENA

Earlier this month Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry  signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Perlin, making it the first chamber of commerce in the world to offer innovative blockchain solutions developed by ICC and Perlin’s Centre of Future Trade (CoFT) to its members and regional partners.

UNLOCK interviewed Dorjee Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Perlin to learn more about the partnership agreement. According to Sun, “Perlin is partnered with the ICC at a global level across various blockchain initiatives. As such ICC connects Perlin directly to their members, both companies and individual business chambers which led to the introduction to the Dubai Chamber at the recent World Chambers Congress in Brazil.”

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Singapore and met with Perlin to look into the blockchain solutions. It was at this meeting that an exclusive distribution agreement was proposed t cover the MENA region. Sun explains, “Dubai Chamber will actively market and distribute our blockchain products to their members and network. They recognized the powerful potential and utility of the solutions we’ve built and wanted to work closely with us to roll out in MENA. So basically, Perlin will continue developing and marketing its own products, but in the MENA region Dubai Chamber will be our primary distribution partner for direct access to enterprises there. As a highly-respected and dynamic chamber, Dubai has now opened up new markets in MENA for Perlin to expand “

Among the products that will be marketed in the region is Wavelet,  the world’s fastest public blockchain processing over 31,240 payment transactions per second; finalizing transactions in a matter of 1–4 seconds across millions of nodes. In addition to Perlin Clarify , a dApp for full value chain traceability, which is already deployed for the world’s largest producer of rayon fibre  an  Perlin Certify , dApp for product authentication and anti-counterfeiting, with pilots now being developed for major test partners

As for the reason behind partnering with Dubai Chambers and not others, Sun states, “ We believe the Dubai Chamber is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic and effective in the world. They are highly active and at the forefront of innovation in trade. Through their extensive networks, we expect to onboard a host of new strategic partners and clients for our enterprise blockchain solutions. We remain open to working with anyone throughout the MiddleEast and Africa, with Dubai Chamber as our 1st and primary key partner in the MENA region.

As for any future partnerships in the region Sun adds, “We continue to work closely with the ICC and other strategic partners to connect with chambers around the world. We aim to form alliances in all major markets with local partners that can help us more effectively market and distribute our world’s best Wavelet distributed ledger and growing array of powerful decentralized enterprise solutions. We believe that working with strong and connected local partners is the most effective way to achieve critical scale fast and achieve true global coverage.”
