UAE SEED Group partners with Taiwan Blockchain company Owlting

SEED Group, a diversified group of companies owned by The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, announced a new strategic partnership with OwlTing, a Taiwan technology company founded in 2010, focusing on e-commerce and blockchain solutions dedicated for global travel services, hospitality, food security, agriculture, aviation and more. The partnership will combine OwlTing’s expertise in blockchain technology and innovation with SEED Group’s interest in driving the blockchain adoption as a key to secure operations and in conjunction with the government’s vision for the city to be fully-powered by blockchain by 2021.

OwlTing Group is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and is operating globally through its branch offices in the USA, Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia. It also introduced OwlNest, the world’s first blockchain hotel management service, and launched the world’s first food provenance scheme based on Ethereum, OwlChain, which has been mainly used by a million consumers to date. OwlTing CEO Darren Wang said they’ve brought blockchain technology into the traditional hospitality industry and are extending blockchain technology into aviation and other industries right now, believing that every sector in the globe will use blockchain technology in the next 10 years.

Dubai has been a top choice for OwlTing to expand its business as they see the city’s commitment to remain an innovation hub by increasing the existence of start-ups and innovative and scale-up businesses. Under the agreement, SEED Group will provide OwlTing with the necessary support to promote its platform and innovative solutions to enterprise companies and targeted customers across the UAE, and with a strong focus on the aviation and hospitality sector, delivering new value to its markets.

“This is an opportunity for OwlTing to dedicate and adopt blockchain technology for aviation and hospitality industry to the Middle East and North Africa regions starting from 2020 Dubai World Expo, and contribute a part to the government plan of the UAE to build a fully-powered blockchain city in 2021,” said Darren Wang, founder and CEO of OwlTing Group. “Blockchain technology is regarded as the fourth Industrial Revolution, and we truly believe that blockchain technology will affect every aspect of human life within the next decade. It will bring revolutionary changes and huge progress to all industries.”

“Innovations are among the top priorities of the government and this partnership aligns directly with the Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021, helping to reinforce the place of the country as a major player in the implementation of blockchain technology,” said Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of SEED Group and The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum. “We are beyond excited to explore new technological frontiers with OwlTing and apply new business applications amongst companies and we are confident that this will propel a very good impact.”

OwlTing is set to start operating in Dubai, with SEED Group mainly supporting them as they begin and scale their company, engaging with the government and private industries, as well as exploring possibilities on a large scale.

SEED Group has already signed more than 3 major partnership with blockchain companies in the past months. SEED Group partnered with Liquefy with Fantom Foundation with Blocko and Invao among others such as Jibrel Network
