Ethereum Enterprise Alliance is alive & adding new members
In March of this year some of the biggest names in the sectors of finance and software such as Intel Microsoft JP Morgan and Accenture set up the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance.
Enterprise Ethereum Alliance three days ago announced 86 new members. All have the intention of working together on a private version of Ethereum Blockchain under the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance as well as investigate hybrid architecture that span both permission and public Ethereum networks. EEA is designed to build, promote, and broadly support Ethereum-based technology best practices, standards, and a reference architecture, EntEth 1.0 .
The founding members of the EEA rotating board include Accenture, Banco Santander, BlockApps, BNY Mellon, CME Group, ConsenSys, IC3, Intel, J.P. Morgan, Microsoft, and Nuco. Additional founding members include AMIS, Andui, BBVA, brainbot technologies, BP, Chronicled, Credit Suisse, Cryptape, Fubon Financial, ING, The Institutes, Monax, String Labs, Telindus, Tendermint, Thomson Reuters, UBS, VidRoll, and Wipro, among others.
Jeremy Millar, the founder of Ethereum Enterprise Alliance wants to add formal governance to the development process while trying to retain its open source ethos. The alliance will be run by a rotating board of directors selected from founding members, including Banco Santander, BNY Mellon, J.P. Morgan, Accenture, Intel, Microsoft, CME Group, Cornell University's blockchain research group, IC3, and three blockchain startups—ConsenSys, Nuco, and BlockApps.
