A pioneering set of stamps crafted through the innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) has been unveiled to celebrate the UAE's 52nd National Day.
In a remarkable first for the region, Emirates Post has introduced a collection of stamps featuring iconic Emirati landmarks like the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the towering Burj Khalifa.
Notably, these stamps also pay homage to sustainability, a crucial theme resonating within the nation's core values.
What sets these stamps apart is the cutting-edge AI technology utilized in their creation. Spearheaded by the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in the Department of Computer Vision, this visionary project aimed to transform digital canvases into vibrant representations of the UAE's rich cultural heritage and its aspirations for the future.

The team behind this pioneering endeavor orchestrated a symphony of state-of-the-art text-to-image algorithms, integrated seamlessly into the university's proprietary picture production pipeline. This fusion of technological prowess and artistic finesse blended real-world data encompassing traditional attire, architectural marvels, historical elements, and futuristic visions. The outcome is an exquisite watercolor-style artwork that elegantly merged artistry with technical brilliance.
A testament to the precision and detail of this AI marvel, three unique postage stamps emerged, each boasting a remarkable resolution of 2048 by 2048 pixels.
"This innovative initiative aims to encapsulate the UAE's rich history, its awe-inspiring present, and its aspirations for an even more promising future," stated Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, group CEO of Emirates Post Group.
Sultan Al Hajji, the Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, emphasized the significance of this collaboration: "The partnership between Emirates Post Group and MBZUAI embodies the fusion of technology, artistic expression, and patriotic sentiment.
