Biography

Mehtap Onder is the Managing Director at Fasset, where she leads institutional strategy, compliance, and market expansion across Asia and Africa. She played an important role during the company’s approval to operate a stablecoin powered Islamic digital bank in Malaysia. Prior to her current role she was Managing Director at GC Exchange FZE (GCEX) where she transformed it into a key player in the digital asset and FX brokerage industry, securing an Operational VASP license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), showcasing her expertise in navigating complex regulations and establishing a compliant business model. Under her leadership, GCEX has become the preferred partner for institutional clients seeking robust Tier 1 liquidity and advanced trading technology. Beyond GCEX, Mehtap has significantly influenced the digital asset landscape, collaborating with VARA and other regulatory stakeholders to foster a well-regulated crypto ecosystem in Dubai and beyond.
