Biography

Bashir Kazour is a leading digital asset executive in the UAE and Managing Director for Taurus SA, where he drives the firm’s expansion across the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia. Based in Dubai, he has positioned Taurus as the region’s cornerstone for regulated digital asset infrastructure—empowering banks, digital banks, and financial institutions with custody, tokenization, and blockchain integration solutions. Under his leadership, Taurus has supported major regional initiatives, including powering Zand Bank’s stablecoin and custody platform in the UAE, collaborating with Türkiye’s largest non-government bank, İşbank, and working with one of East Africa’s biggest banks on their digital assets initiative—cementing Taurus’s role as the trusted backbone for institutions entering the digital asset space. With over two decades of experience in banking, capital markets, and fintech—including senior roles at Royal Bank of Canada and FIS (formerly SunGard)—Bashir combines strong domain expertise with a pragmatic approach to infrastructure innovation. Holding an MBA, he champions digital asset custody as a disciplined infrastructure play rather than speculation, enabling support for crypto, stablecoins, tokenized securities, sukuk, and real estate across both public and private blockchains. Bashir helped Institutions launch their own stable coin, Opened up new regions, and onboarded local and international blockchains onto Taurus platform.
