Dubai Land Department deploys Blockchain based digital rental contracts

UAE du Telecom, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), and Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDGE), the technology arm of the Smart Dubai initiative, has announced the launch of a new paperless property rental platform to automate business processes between four connected UAE entities. The announcement was made at the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week 2020. Through collaboration with SDGE, Al Wasl Group, Dubai Land Department (DLD), and Emirates NBD, the platform will integrate these entities. du and SDGE have built a multi-purpose Dubai Pulse, providing secure analytic, big data, and compute and storage services for the use of various government entities.

Available through du Blockchain Edge and Dubai Pulse, all services are linked to a digital tenancy contract through the solution, which will be received within a few minutes following completion of the digital application. du Blockchain Edge provides seamless digital experiences and solutions, guaranteeing scalability and empowering individuals, enterprises, and government entities to contribute to the UAE’s knowledge-based journey which supports the UAE Blockchain Strategy 2021, as well as the Dubai Paperless Strategy.

As the integrated platform and digital backbone that hosts Dubai’s most powerful and valuable datasets, Dubai Pulse enables open data sharing, encourages a culture of innovation, enhances quality of life for citizens and residents, and promotes the vision of make Dubai the happiness city globally. The consortium is governed by Smart Dubai and the other connected entities, with more entities expected to join in the near future.

Dubai Land department was one of the first governmental entities to utilize blockchain when it used it to record all realestate transactions. It also in 2018 implemented four blockchain projects.
